• BONUS: The history of oztech in OswestryDavid Bowyer, the principal of both Calltech UK and oztech has semi-retired to his home in Shropshire, stepping back from the corporate world after more than 35 years as a Senior Network Administrator, Data Centre Manager and IT troubleshooter.

Immediately after achieving his MCSE (Microsfoft Certified Systems Engineer) qualification, David began his professional IT career as Network Administrator for the, then Warrington based, Internet Marketing Group (the publishers of Sky Pages ) until the Company's relocation to Ireland in the late 1980's.
Choosing to remain in the UK, David decided to further his education as a mature student and was awarded a Degree in Computer Science from the University of Lancashire in 1994.
David's positive attitude, friendly demeanour and technical communication skills saw him rise steadily through the Corporate ranks. From his initial role as Systems Analyst, David's responsibilities expanded to major IT infrastructure planning at Board level. . . with special emphasis on technical customer services.
During the Covid lockdowns of 2021, he became a self-employed IT 'fixer', establishing an independent technical support business, providing network and database solutions to SMEs across Lancashire, Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.
In 2023, David semi-retired to his new home in Oswestry where, tiring of the two hour commute Northward, he re-targeted the marketing of Calltech to businesses across Shropshire and the Welsh Borders. It quickly became apparent, however, that there was a far greater need in the area for accessible, affordable, support to residential and rural broadband users.
Which is why oztech was born!
